Knockin' on the Past

Shadows of the past
Winter evening,
Setting Sun,
2 souls,
Lodhi gardens the retreat,
2 lovers as one heart beats.

Evening walkers,
Children play,
They're lost in each other,
Like every other day.

As the lights come on,
Breathless sight,
monuments bathed..
In the streams of Light.

She pulled him off the ground,
Music without sound,
They danced together,
Closely bound.
Throwing shadows on the walls,
Of former rulers' halls,

Such simple joy!
Never seen..
So audaciously happy,
I've never been.

Summer's here.
We, far apart,
Regardless of our misery,
We play the part,
I long for the day,
I hope so does she,
When I watch her again..
Throwing shadows with me.
