A Lesson Learnt....

From the court of the King Zable,
there is an unknown fable,
which talks of Zable's slipper, named Shear,
and the king's chair, Zear.

One day when Zable was asleep,
Shear could hear someone weep,
and was shocked to see 'twas the Royal Chair,
who was responsible for this liquid affair!

Shear asked,"Why art thou exuding flood?
Is it termite or your nails need blood?"

"No you fool",said Zear,"its because of the creaking,"
Under the King's weight my arms are breaking!"

Shear cried,"Oh! You are one to complain!"
"Cant you see that all day I am out in the rain?!"
"walking on mud and stepping on tar,
strolling throught the hot and dirt to an endless mindless war,
Wish I could be like you sitting in the palace,
watching those ladies dust you,Oh!I confess in malice!"

Zear shriek,"Why you ignorant wretch!
Dont you see how lucky you are?
You get to travel to far off places,
like the mountains or even the chariot races..
I get to sit here in the interior,
hoping the King loses some weight off his posterior!"

"Oh!Let us plan together and outsmart the Royals"
said Shear, now wanting to be rid of the toils!
"Yes!let us scheme.."said Zear in a dream,
and together they whispered ideas with wicked gleams.

The next morn at the court, the King was cursing his luck,
"Why the devil!I was comfortable yesterday and today I am stuck!"
Sitting immobile in his wooden chair,
He pulled and pushed without a care,
And suddenly they heard a loud 'crack',
Zable was free but had broken Zear’s back!

As when then stepped into his slippers,
they grabbed on - powerful grippers,
And the King ran helter-skelter and without care,
To rid himself of this demonic footwear!
Then suddenly the courtier heard a LOUD tear,
And that was the end of Shear.

They lay outside in the courtyard,
Fellows in crime serving time,
A broken back and torn rubber,
Feeling sorry at being such cribbers!

Hope you had heard of Shear and Zear
Their story is often told,
One with a weak Head,
The other with a bad Soul.
