Moon In May

Solitary, amongst the cloudy hue
Bursting through the twinkling blue,
Never before a more perfect form
Have tired eyes set themselves upon.
Rounded like a ring, bright like a fire
Quenching my thirst, yet building desire
We stood and watched as she went her way
- We watched the moon in may !

As moments turned to minutes, minutes to hours
My feeble body weekened- couldn't resist her powers
Dragged me out of my brick-mortar cell..
Pulled me out of my subconscious hell,
Walls that were built by my guilty mind
Now lay broken, far behind.
And she drifted along lighting the way,
- We watched the moon in may !

Ignited me with a freedom, few have ever known!
Filled my heart with a passion seed, where a garden of love has grown..
I feel so free tonight, that I fly among the birds,
Can chalk out my own future, away from soul-less herds.
And as the night crept sheepishly by, took the moon, which vanished into the western sky,
But promised before she left " all will change today"
And I believed in that she said
- As we watched the Moon in may !

(Written on 13th May,2003 for someone after spending the whole nite watchin the moon traverse across the sky...texting each other...she kept the poem, thank god...i'd lost it!)
